Snow Gloves Make Winter Fun
What is the most fun thing about winter? Most of us would say playing in and enjoying the snow. After all, it is beautiful. Even though it is chilly, there are a lot of fun outdoor spots to engage in. Snow gloves are going to be your must-have piece of winter gear if you’re all about having fun in the wintery white mix that graces the land every winter season.

Gloves made for the cold of winter snow are great for multiple uses. For folks living in areas where lots of snow falls every winter, gloves made for the snow are an essential necessity. They come in handy for all kinds of fun spots, but they also have a practical side when it comes to cleaning the car off. A brush can be handy, but nothing seems to work as well as your own hand.

Snow gloves can be a fantastic solution to keeping the heat on your hand where it belongs while getting rid of snow from your car roof, windshield, or hood. Outdoor winter sports are going to be cold, especially those that involve speed. Skiing, ice skating, hockey, and winter tubing are all wintery outdoor activities that can leave your fingers feelings like icicles if not properly insulated. Snow gloves provide a great solution.

Depending on what you plan to do, you can find a variety of different gloves. From thick to thin, there are plenty of choices to match whatever your outdoor activity is. The trick is to look for well insulted gloves that seal well at the wrists to stop snow from making it inside. Just as heat resistant gloves are designed to stop hot temperatures from getting to your hands, these gloves are designed to keep the heat in and stop cold temperatures from getting to your hands.

You need not spend a fortune on snow gloves. You can easily find them for less than $50. A good pair for winter sports can be found in the range of $50 to $100. Remember, the bigger the price does not mean the better the gloves. Be sure to read about the material the gloves you’re looking at are made of for detail on just how well they will work against the cold, and look for pairs that are lined.

Heat Proof Gloves Make Cooking Even Easier

Heat proof gloves are probably the best cooking aid invention since the invention of pot holders. Pot holders are not to be confused with the type of glove we are talking about. There is a distinct difference between the two.

Pot holders have been around for decades. They can be found at any local grocery or department store. You can find them in a variety of designs to match your kitchen décor. Pot holders usually come in packs that include one to two gloves and one to two flat square padded holders for placing a hot dish on or removing it from the oven or stove. Everyone who cooks owns at least one if not two or more sets of pot holders.

Heat proof gloves for cooking are made of much more heat resistant materials than your standard run of the mill pot holders. These gloves can withstand 400 plus degrees without you even feeling a flash of heat on your hand inside of the glove! They are a fantastic gift for new cooks or anyone with a fear of dropping a flat pot holder or heat coming through a standard glove.

Standard pot holders and gloves are made of thick fabric and batting to provide a barrier between your bare skin and the hot pot. Heat proof gloves, on the other hand are made of various heat resistant materials. Silicon is one of the most popular materials because it disperses the heat in such a way that your hand inside of the glove does not even feel it, even if you have to hold it for an extended period.

These types of gloves can be multi-purpose. For example, they can be handy for adding wood to a wood burning stove. When purchasing a set, always read and follow the label for recommended usage.

Heat proof gloves can be a fantastic gift for the cook in your family. Simply one or two gloves can replace an entire pot holder set. They last longer and deflect much more heat allowing you to more safety move hot pots, pans, and baking dishes.

There are a variety of oven gloves available today and what you will shop for depends on what features you are looking for in a glove. What type of material? How long will they last? How much do they cost? Any special features?

Silicone Oven Gloves

Silicone oven gloves are fascinating and made of versatile silicone. Some of their advantages:

1. They are waterproof.
2. They are stain resistant.
3. They are easy to clean….just throw them in the dishwasher.
4. They can withstand very high temperatures.
5. They are very flexible and can bend into practically any position.

Silicone oven gloves are so protective when you wear them that you can actually plunge you glove-covered hand directly into a pot of boiling water to grab an ear of corn. You can’t do that with a regular cloth oven glove.

You will have a greater sense of touch when wearing a silicone oven glove. The gloves are thin, unlike padded oven gloves. Also, silicone repels water and oil so there is a much less chance of receiving a burn when wearing these types of oven gloves.

Silicone oven gloves come in a large assortment of shapes and colors. They even come in animal shapes, such as a dog or frog’s head. They also have ridges on the underside to assist with lifting heavy items. You can get these types of oven gloves in long or short lengths, covering just your hand or all the way up to your elbow.

Silicone oven gloves are more expensive than other types. They range in price from $29.95 to $49.95 for an individual glove

If you don’t want to spend the money on oven gloves made from silicone, you can buy the less expensive quilted oven gloves that are coated with a silicone spray on the outside, while having a fabric insulation on the inside. These oven gloves are comparable in look and feel to a conventional oven glove.

Neoprene oven gloves, made of the material that wet suits are created with, is another type of oven glove. They are safe in temperatures of up to 400 degrees F and can also be cleaned in a washing machine or a dishwasher.
